Sydney to Port Macquarie |
We left Mum's at around 9.30 am. It was showery with some very heavy falls as we got closer to Newcastle, but after Newcastle there was sunshine with just a few showers.
Lunch was toasted sandwiches at the Two Rivers Cafe, Bulahdelah - across the road from the river. We sidetracked from the main highway to go through Taree. We sidetracked again for the last 40 km, taking Ocean Drive through Laurieton, North Haven and Lake Cathie. We took the coast road into Port Macquarie, stopping at the Tacking Point Lighthouse.
Stayed at the Town Beach Motor Inn and had a buffet dinner at the Port City Bowling Club - just around the corner from the motel.
